A notable artist once sang, “I’m a movement by myself. But I’m a force when we’re together.” If that were true, imagine a group of “movements” who come together for the sake of one cause. That’s what you have with the Better Detroit Youth Movement (BDYM), a non-profit coalition of positive-minded individuals and groups who are committed to working together with communities, parents, schools and students to improve the quality of life and learning for our city’s children. Offering several options and opportunities, the members of BDYM support each other by providing positive direction to people of all ages who come through its doors. BDYM also hosts its own events such as the Million Father March, Stomping Out HIV, and a scholarship fair held every fall. In short, BDYM is a collection of movements who come together to serve as a force in the city of Detroit.
