Cinco is just the latest in a line of inaugural yet innovative fundraising events,” said Coach Khali Sweeney, Downtown Boxing Gym’s founder and owner. “Not only is this event a great way to honor our city’s Mexican heritage, but the proceeds will also go towards supporting our summer academic programs which will be crucial for keeping our students’ minds fresh while out of school. Since our gym goes beyond teaching kids the sport of boxing, it is important to keeping a steady flow of funding our academic programs as we foster the growth of our students into productive members of society.”
